July 9th of a wonderful day for me!! Our little family went down to the Salt Lake City Court House and Emmee is now officially ours!!!! WOW FINALLY!
Her story:
Her story:
On December 28th I got a call from our Agency Heart to Heart. They had told us ( after being put in for around 18 babies) They had another one. But this one was an Agency pick, meaning the birth mother would like the Agency to pick the family. My case worker told me it was an unknown sex and the birth mom was due January 9th. She was flying in today and she would go to the Dr. around 4 that afternoon. Well that night we got a call that she was dialed to a 5 and if she didn't go tonight she would have the baby in the morning. So there is a 24 hour period where the birth mom's can change there mind, so Brad and I decided since this was so fast that we would just keep it to ourselves. That same night we went to a birthday party for my sweet nephew Desmond and the family had no idea we were going CRAZY!!!!
The next day December 29th around 10:00 a.m. I called our case worker to find out the scoop. She said she was admitted to the hospital and they would keep us up dated! Well around 1:15 I got a text message saying CONGRATULATIONS its a girl!!!! 7lbs 6 Oz and 18 inches long, she was born at 1:08. Then our case worker called and said the BM ( birth mom) was having a hard time and she didn't want us to come to the hospital until after she signed the papers. So We were not sure if this little angel would be ours or not.
So that night we went and saw the light s with the Lythgoe's, they had NO idea but we asked them what they thought about the name Emmee, they said they liked it and we said nothing else about what was going on.
The next morning I waited a little bit before I called I got really nervous, but our case worker called us around 10:00 and said she is still good to go, but at first she didn't want to meet us at all then she changed her mind and wanted to meet just me.. NERVOUS... She also said we could come up to the hospital around 2:00p.m. So I went shopping, for a gift! What on earth do you give a women who is so strong and wonderful and giving you the best gift of all.. Well I went to 3 different stores and bald my eyes out. A couple of people asked me if I was okay, and after 2 hours I decided to get her a locket. Which read, "Where you go, our hearts will follow"
I thought that fit they way I felt about her, the way I still feel to this day about her. I love her and I am so thankful she gave me this wonderful little girl. Thank you! So we went to the hospital and signed all the papers right when we got there. Brad and I were looking at each other like we couldn't believe this was happening... But when we got done I went into the room to meet our BM. She was tall and beautiful. She was very soft spoken and very sweet. I gave her a hug right away and cried as I told her thank you and I loved her, and that I would take the best care of her baby that I knew how. We talked about Brad being a wonderful Dad and Brinlee being excited to have a little sister. We laughed and she handed the baby over to me. I promise it was as if she was giving me permission and all the bonding to this child. I felt instantly bonded Emmee. About 15 mininutes later she grab all her things and left to get on a plane back to her home state. Then Brad came in and the hospital took us to another room and said we could call Family and Friends! Boy were both of our family's excited!!
